Concrete glorious concrete

 This week's excitement is focused on the pouring of the concrete. The underfloor heating was secured by end of day Wednesday.  


And Thursday my house was filled with a gooey mess.



With inside being occupied with muck.  The work focus moved to the outside, with paving and fencing.









By Saturday, the slab is walkable.  It still needs a while to cure, and they say they can't start the tiling till the 1st.  It's nice to have a floor.

 We have been in for a week, and it is quite nice. the Decorator was in touching up the painting and we had some landscape gardeners doing some turf.  But really.... now the builders are gone till next year. Apparently woodchip that is starting to decompose is an ok bedding material for grass.

The weather outside is frightful

The weather has been frightful, which allows us to notice that the house does not leak.... Actually, its quite comfortable, though you can hear the rain on the roof in the loft, but it is isn't that loud.  Also I managed to do my Christmas shopping before lockdown was called.  And we got the tree in too.
