Wow that's really looking like a room now

There is lots of work this week, with beams and bricks and concrete.  Most of the work is in the grand room, getting the beams lifted into place.   There was a little bit of a "hardhat only zone" while the beam was suspended in the air for a few days.

Concrete was set in the entrance way, and the stairs are currently attached to the ceiling instead of the floor.  And the downstairs windows are in.

We also got a kitten. So I must include cute cat pictures.

 We have been in for a week, and it is quite nice. the Decorator was in touching up the painting and we had some landscape gardeners doing some turf.  But really.... now the builders are gone till next year. Apparently woodchip that is starting to decompose is an ok bedding material for grass.

The weather outside is frightful

The weather has been frightful, which allows us to notice that the house does not leak.... Actually, its quite comfortable, though you can hear the rain on the roof in the loft, but it is isn't that loud.  Also I managed to do my Christmas shopping before lockdown was called.  And we got the tree in too.
