I was despairing that I would need to dismantle this myself and pay to have it taken to the tip.   Fortunately someone (who was handy with tools)  wanted it and was willing to take it down and away.

The weather has been frightful, which allows us to notice that the house does not leak.... Actually, its quite comfortable, though you can hear the rain on the roof in the loft, but it is isn't that loud.  Also I managed to do my Christmas shopping before lockdown was called.  And we got the tree in too. All those last bits start to come together

Living in a small 3 bedroom flat has been a little challenging. We have decided that the quality of prepared ready meals is a little variable. Fortunately our tabletop cooker is working, so we can have bacon sandwiches.  Also we found the kettle today. We can drink tea again.  We had the tree man around to clean up the unwanted trees. it has made the garden look a bit stark, but we plan to replant.  This link shows the   Tree being cut down . We got left with a lot of wood and a pile of woodchip, and a pile of twiggy branches. The carpet man came by on Friday and finished the carpet. Now we have carpet both on the stairs and in the downstairs front room. And the landing went from this to this. And the lower stairs too. The bathtub got fixed. It had a case of the wobbles as it was on little legs.  It has been put on the ground and siliconed down and this was our first test run. Windows, Stairs and Floors

There has been a lot of progress with the loft.  The stairs are in and just yesterday the loft windows and some plasterboard went on.  There is still some black plastic on the roof so something is not completed up there. The upstairs windows at the front are missing.  The new windows are on order.  We had to make decisions on which windows would open and which would not.  I've been trying very very hard not to say... They should all open damnit.  There has been a few things like this that have to remind me that I don't live in Australia anymore. There are no flyscreens and not all the windows need to open. Work has started on the plumbing.  They replaced the mains pipe from the road, which required a hole dug in the front garden and the entrance way floor.  The kitchen has been stripped and the floor dug up.  Currently the house is without running water (good thing we are not living there)
