That up there is my bedroom

Image
This is the new roof line.  They actually changed the pitch of the roof giving a bit more headroom for our wardrobe. From the back. Yes, that is a giant pile of insulation you see. View from the small front bedroom, up.  The bedroom seems to have lost the wall to the staircase, making it very open. This bit is the view up from the small front bedroom towards the front of the house. Who needs ceilings!  Notice the hole in the wall where the beam goes through.  They are lowering the ceilings in on this floor just a bit.

Roof, what roof

First there were holes. Then one day the roof just disappeared.  Then it started growing new brickwork

We appear to have holes in our roof

Week 2, and the builders are hard at work. Mostly ripping stuff out, but also manoeuvring 5.5m steel beams into and around the roof. We also seem to have lost the chimneys.

The Builders are here and they are making a most excellent mess

The ceiling needs to come down. It is an old thing of lath and plaster piled with what might be powdered insulation, but is probably pigeon droppings.  And down down down it comes in piles of black mud and sticks.

Hammock party

Image
The first good weekend of the year and London is in lockdown.  So we got out the hammock and decided make a day of killing a few more trees. We managed to find the back gate and open the garage door, and clear the rear access way.
